The College
St John’s College is a Catholic community whose members are inspired by high ideals of intellectual excellence, faithful Christian living and witness, and service to society. St John’s was established in 1858 as a college of and within the University of Sydney and presently has some 250 men and women resident students, a small number of non-resident students and several resident senior members.

The Role
Reporting to the Vice-Rector, this role provides a range of professional services to support the implementation and operation of student focussed programs with an emphasis on academic work and the tutorial program. This role will have carriage of preparing and revising academic program plans for the College under the supervision of the Rector and Vice-Rector.

The Person
Successful applicant must have a strong commitment to continued learning and academic excellence of young women and men, be willing to engage in college life, and have the ability to work with a small and dedicated team.

Applicants must also be prepared to contribute to the broader cultural life of the College including attendance at social, sporting and cultural activities.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

1. Experience in managing academic and tutorial programs

2. A minimum of 3 year’s work experience within the tertiary education sector

3. Familiar with university support services and academic processes

4. University degree

5. Commitment to continued learning and academic excellence

6. Proven ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and be sensitive to people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.

Desirable

1. Experience with data management system StarRez highly desirable

2. Ability to research and develop evidence-based programs and policies.
